QA Engineer

About the role

Staq is seeking a QA Engineer to join its technology team and help ensure the quality of its Banking‑as‑a‑Service platform. You will focus on testing APIs that power financial workflows and integrate with third‑party payment providers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases for RESTful APIs.
• Validate complex JSON payloads, headers, status codes and error responses.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and DevOps in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Perform database testing using SQL to verify transactional data.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines and integrate automated API tests.
• Test role‑based access control, authentication mechanisms and audit logging.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of software quality assurance experience, preferably in FinTech or other regulated domains.
• Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST principles and API lifecycle.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger or SoapUI.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
