Recruitment Officer – Internal & External Candidates

About the role

The Recruitment Officer will manage the day‑to‑day recruitment operations for UNRWA in Jordan, ensuring that vacancy advertisements, candidate screening, and interview processes are conducted efficiently and in line with UNRWA policies and gender perspectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment services, including drafting vacancy ads, preparing technical tests, and monitoring application screening.
• Coordinate interview preparation, participate in interview panels, and produce interview reports for local recruitment.
• Provide guidance and feedback to internal and external candidates throughout the recruitment process.
• Advise the Human Resources Career Management Officer (HRCMO) and Field HR Officer on recruitment matters and contribute to the annual field recruitment plan.
• Generate periodic statistical reports on recruitment activities and maintain recruitment data.
• Liaise with mission counterparts, NGOs, and national recruitment services regarding vacancies and applications.
• Develop assessment tools in collaboration with hiring offices and support programme heads with recruitment updates.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing recruitment processes within an international or UN context.
• Familiarity with UNRWA recruitment guidelines, gender‑responsive recruitment, and selection procedures.
• Strong analytical abilities to produce recruitment statistics and reports.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with candidates, hiring offices, and external partners.
