About the role
The Regional Technical, Evidence and Quality (TEQ) Director leads Mercy Corps’ technical portfolio across the MENA/Europe and Asia region. Reporting to the Regional Program Team, the Director provides strategic direction, oversees technical advisors and ensures high‑quality, evidence‑driven programming in water, climate, economic opportunity, social integration, monitoring, evaluation and learning.
Key responsibilities
- Set and implement the regional technical strategy, aligning with global TEQ priorities.
- Manage and mentor Technical Advisors in Water & Climate, Economic Opportunities, Social Integration, MEL and Program Standards.
- Coordinate delivery of technical services to country teams across the humanitarian‑development‑peace nexus.
- Collaborate with global and regional TEQ units to ensure coherence and shared learning.
- Lead business development activities, including pre‑positioning and donor engagement.
- Represent Mercy Corps at donor meetings, conferences and external forums.
- Oversee quality assurance processes and continuous improvement of technical outputs.
Required profile
- Proven senior leadership experience in multi‑country humanitarian or development programmes.
- Deep expertise in at least one of the following domains: water and climate, economic opportunity, social integration, or monitoring, evaluation and learning.
- Demonstrated ability to manage diverse technical teams and deliver results in complex, volatile environments.
- Strong business development and external representation skills.
