Security Officer – Loss Prevention & Security

About the role

The Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the property, its guests, and employees by monitoring security systems, conducting patrols, and responding to incidents. This full‑time position ensures a safe environment and supports loss‑prevention initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the property and control access to rooms.
• Monitor CCTV, perimeter alarm, duress and fire‑life‑safety systems.
• Lock entrances, conduct daily hazard inspections, and respond to accidents or emergencies.
• Provide first aid/CPR, contact EMS, and assist guests and staff during incidents.
• Defuse disturbances, escort unwelcome persons, and coordinate with external assistance when needed.
• Complete incident reports, shift summaries, and maintain confidentiality of all security documentation.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview relevant parties.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb unaided.
• Strong observational skills and the capacity to react quickly to emergencies.
• Professional appearance, clear communication, and respect for guest privacy.
• Willingness to follow company policies, safety training, and licensing requirements where applicable.
