Senior Architect

About the role

PODIUM Architects is hiring a Senior Architect to join its architectural design team in Amman, Jordan. The role suits a design-driven professional with extensive architectural experience, advanced technical expertise and strong leadership, who will lead projects from concept through detailed design, construction documentation and regulatory approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural concepts, design strategies and proposals, and oversee 2D drawings, 3D models, visualizations and presentations.
• Manage projects through concept, schematic, detailed design, tender documentation and construction documentation stages.
• Prepare and coordinate permit drawings and submission packages according to JEA requirements, Jordanian building regulations and municipality procedures.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, interior design, landscape and other consultants, and review materials, finishes, building systems and construction details.
• Review tender packages, shop drawings, material submittals and technical queries, and give design input on interior design tasks when needed.
• Conduct site visits, lead design reviews, coordination meetings and client presentations, and manage client feedback and revisions.
• Mentor and supervise architects and junior team members, and manage project priorities and deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in architectural design and technical coordination, including independent project leadership.
• Knowledge of JEA requirements, Jordanian building regulations and Greater Amman Municipality permit procedures.
• Familiarity with interior design principles is an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp; Enscape for visualization and rendering.
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Tender documentation, shop drawings, material submittals and construction-stage coordination.
