Senior Assessment Officer – Public Health (PHU)

About the role

IMPACT Initiatives is seeking a Senior Assessment Officer (Public Health) to join its humanitarian team in Amman. The role focuses on delivering evidence‑driven public health assessments in the occupied Palestinian territories, supporting coordinated response efforts across food security, WASH, nutrition and health sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and oversee public‑health‑focused research activities, including household surveys and multi‑sectoral assessments.
• Collect, clean, analyse and visualise data on food security, WASH, nutrition and health indicators.
• Produce timely reports and briefing notes that translate complex findings into actionable recommendations for humanitarian actors.
• Coordinate with the Research Manager and field teams to ensure methodological rigour and data quality.
• Disseminate results through presentations, dashboards and written products tailored to diverse audiences.
• Mentor junior team members on data collection and analysis techniques.

Required profile

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in public health, epidemiology, nutrition, or a related field.
• Proven experience conducting humanitarian assessments in conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong analytical ability to work with large, complex datasets and identify key trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing clear, concise reports for NGOs and donors.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to rapidly changing field conditions.
