Senior Business Development & Grants Manager – Multi-Country Office (MCO)

About the role

Based in Amman, the Senior Business Development and Grants Manager leads business development, pre‑positioning and grants activities for Mercy Corps’ Multi‑Country Office (MCO) covering Syria, Jordan and Yemen. The role ensures high‑quality donor engagement, competitive proposal development and effective grant lifecycle management while supporting the organization’s ten‑year strategic plan.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for program development, business development and grants management across the three countries, aligning with Mercy Corps’ standards and strategic objectives.
• Lead multi‑country resource mobilisation, overseeing donor outreach, proposal writing and submission processes.
• Manage the full grants lifecycle, from concept and budgeting to compliance monitoring and reporting.
• Supervise and mentor a Reporting Officer, setting clear objectives and conducting performance reviews.
• Coordinate closely with Country Managers, program teams, regional award management and technical specialists to ensure cohesive and compliant program delivery.

Required profile

• Significant experience in business development, grant writing and donor management within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor staff in a multi‑country environment.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance requirements and grant management best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
