Senior Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric & Power BI)

About the role

ExeQut is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement a new data‑warehouse platform built on Microsoft Fabric. The role focuses on end‑to‑end pipeline development, dimensional modeling, and delivering Power BI semantic models for enterprise reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build the medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) on Microsoft Fabric.
• Extract data from AS/400 systems using Qlik Replicate or JT400 and from Azure Database for PostgreSQL via Fabric Mirroring.
• Develop transformation logic in SQL, Python or PySpark to clean, deduplicate and conform data.
• Create Kimball‑style star schemas, conformed dimensions and implement slowly changing dimensions in the Gold layer.
• Build certified Power BI semantic models in Direct Lake mode, write DAX measures and configure row‑level security.
• Validate new outputs against legacy reports during parallel runs.
• Support integration of Power BI Copilot and custom AI agents on the semantic layer.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of production experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong expertise in Power BI semantic modeling, DAX and security.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Kimball dimensional modeling, star schemas and SCD types.
• Proficiency in advanced SQL and programming with Python or PySpark.
• Comfortable working in Azure environment and using CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab or Fabric Deployment Pipelines).
• Fluent English communication and availability during US East Coast core hours.
