Senior R&D Engineer

About the role

The Senior R&D Engineer will prototype and evaluate emerging technologies, platforms and AI capabilities before they are committed to product development. This role runs time‑boxed proofs of concept, delivers honest go/no‑go verdicts and hands proven work to development teams for productisation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and assess emerging technologies, AI models and frameworks against the existing stack, cost, regulatory and risk criteria.
• Design, build and measure realistic proofs of concept within defined time‑boxes, focusing on edge cases and failure scenarios.
• Provide evidence‑based go/no‑go recommendations, quantify productisation effort and hand over reference implementations with full documentation.
• Evaluate AI/ML capabilities (LLM integration, RAG, vector search, model/prompt evaluation) on Azure AI, Azure OpenAI and comparable services, ensuring data residency and bias considerations.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on .NET/ASP.NET Core and C#.
• Hands‑on experience building prototypes, proofs of concept and integrating Generative AI solutions.
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure), Linux/Bash, PowerShell and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
