Senior Finance Associate – Gaza Response

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to support its Gaza Response operations from the Amman office. Reporting to the Head of Resources Management and the Finance Officer, the role involves overseeing financial resources, providing guidance to managers, and ensuring compliance with IOM financial policies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide procedural guidance, supervise and train finance support staff.
• Manage financial resources, monitor assets, reserves, funds and supplies in line with IOM rules.
• Advise Project Managers and senior officials on financial and administrative matters.
• Assist in preparing annual budget submissions, revisions and cost estimations for staff, rentals, utilities and contracts.
• Monitor compliance with financial policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Consolidate data into financial statements and reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field with at least four years of relevant experience (or high school diploma with six years of experience).
• Experience working with international humanitarian or UN‑related organizations in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
• Fluency in English and Arabic, with proficiency assessed during selection.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of SAP (advantage) and International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
• Strong understanding of UN and bilateral donor programming, financial rules and regulations.
