Senior Projects Budgeting Officer

About the role

The Senior Projects Budgeting Officer oversees all financial aspects of funded projects, ensuring accurate recording, compliance with donor regulations, and timely reporting. This role supports the social‑enterprise operations team by maintaining effective internal controls and inventory procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project expenditures and approve purchase requisitions.
• Review financial claims for compliance with JRF SOPs and donor rules.
• Check all payments prepared by finance assistants, ensuring adherence to policies.
• Perform monthly closing of project accounting records.
• Prepare and submit internal and external financial reports within donor deadlines.
• Maintain and update project documents, records, and audit files.
• Implement approved systems, procedures, and internal‑control guidelines.
• Ensure order‑fulfillment procedures for raw and finished goods, supporting inventory levels.
• Conduct regular warehouse inspections and inventory counts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
• 5‑7 years of experience, including at least 4 years in an NGO finance department and 2 years in a similar senior role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems.
• Prior NGO experience.
