Senior Quality Engineer

About the role

Aspire is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer in Amman to develop and run exploratory and automated tests that ensure product quality. The engineer takes part in the product development process and runs tests before product launches so that software works smoothly, meets client needs and is cost-effective.

Key responsibilities

• Review and understand User Stories for assigned projects and ask the client clarifying questions
• Maintain a shared understanding of requirements across the testing team
• Develop and maintain high-level test cases and scenarios, and deliver testing on time for each build
• Provide status reports to the client and create the production release testing plan, managing testing on release day
• Identify automation candidates, develop, run and maintain automated tests with Tricentis Tosca, and contribute to the test automation framework
• Analyze automation results, investigate failures and report and track defects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar field
• At least 4 years of software testing experience, including hands-on web and mobile testing
• Ability to understand and analyse complex software requirements and specifications

Required skills

• Extensive web and mobile testing
• Strong API testing and validation of API responses
• Database testing
• Test automation with Tricentis Tosca
• Agile/Scrum and defect management tools such as Jira are a plus
• Knowledge of IT security best practices (ISO/SOC or similar) is a plus
