Senior Research Officer – Cash, Markets & Livelihoods

About the role

The Senior Research Officer will support IMPACT Initiatives' team in the occupied Palestinian territory, leading cash, markets and livelihoods assessments across Gaza and the West Bank. Reporting to the Research Manager, the role covers the full research cycle from design to dissemination.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement assessment, analysis and support material development in line with IMPACT guidelines and strategic objectives.
• Oversee research design, data collection and analysis, ensuring coherence across the cash, markets & livelihoods team.
• Conduct secondary data reviews, semi‑structured key informant interviews and develop market‑based assessments.
• Produce outputs such as factsheets, situation overviews and narrative reports.
• Train and support data collection staff and promote capacity building within the oPt mission.
• Coordinate with HQ, partners, UN agencies and NGOs to align research with priority information needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in humanitarian assessments, M&E or research design.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, including key informant interviewing.
• Good understanding of the aid system and experience with cash and market research.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to work in a complex security environment.

Required skills

• KoBoToolbox for quantitative data collection.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Statistical software such as R, SPSS or STATA.

What we offer

• Salary between 2,580 CHF and 2,640 CHF per month (before tax).
• Monthly living allowance of 300 USD.
