Senior SATCOM Engineer

About the role

The Senior SATCOM Engineer will design, install, maintain and support advanced satellite communication and IP networking infrastructures. This position provides high‑level technical support for LAN, WAN and VoIP systems, as well as complex RF and satellite equipment, ensuring reliable service for enterprise and mission‑critical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install and maintain LAN, WAN and VoIP networks, including documentation and standards compliance.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for enterprise network and advanced RF systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues within SLA.
• Operate and maintain satellite modems, redundancy switches, converters, amplifiers, antennas, control units, HVAC, UPS and generators.
• Utilize test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) for maintenance and fault isolation.
• Manage inventory of telecommunications supplies and daily equipment logs.
• Program and operate FDMA/TDMA modems, iDirect and Linkway hubs, and oversee all assigned terminals.

Required profile

• Active US Government Secret clearance (interim acceptable) and US citizenship.
• CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent experience (e.g., associate degree + 12 years, certification + 15 years, or 20 years).
• DoD 8140 qualification for Network Operations Specialist (Intermediate) through approved certifications or training.
• Minimum 10 years of experience supporting installation, operation and maintenance of satellite and IP networking systems.
