Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

First Tech builds and delivers digital platforms for financial services and other industries, and is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in Amman. The role focuses on keeping production applications and infrastructure reliable, available and performant, with a 5-day-in-office working model.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and improve the reliability, availability and performance of production applications and infrastructure.
• Build and maintain observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry or equivalent tools, and set up dashboards and alerts.
• Take part in incident response, troubleshoot production failures and run post-incident reviews.
• Define and track SLIs, SLOs and key reliability metrics.
• Automate operational tasks, improve monitoring and contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Analyze performance, find application and database bottlenecks and support capacity planning.
• Work with DevOps, Platform, Development and Database teams to improve resilience, deployment reliability and recovery readiness.
• Use AI-assisted tools to speed up troubleshooting, automation, monitoring and documentation, validating their outputs.
• Maintain runbooks, help with disaster recovery testing and join the on-call rotation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering or production infrastructure operations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, infrastructure and production environments.
• Experience with incident management, production monitoring, alerting and root cause analysis.
• Understanding of application performance, API monitoring and database troubleshooting, preferably with .NET, SQL Server or similar.
• Familiarity with SLOs, SLIs, performance testing and disaster recovery concepts.
• Interest in AI-powered engineering tools and strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
