Settlement Officer

About the role

The Settlement Officer ensures accurate and timely reconciliation and settlement of all financial transactions within the function. The role requires close coordination with internal units and external card scheme entities to guarantee a smooth settlement cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end‑of‑day closing procedures and verify reconciliations each night.
• Coordinate with other units to ensure timely exchange of outgoing and incoming files with card schemes.
• Run daily settlement processes, reconcile bank positions, and verify net positions to prevent financial loss.
• Enter, collect, and reconcile financial and non‑financial transactions such as chargebacks and fee collections on behalf of member banks.
• Act as maker or checker for daily unit tasks and respond to banks’ inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with audits, PPD, scheme rules, and regulator mandates.
• Utilise the RPA system to validate processes and generate VSS reports for banks.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the unit manager, including work on holidays.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1‑3 years of experience in settlement, reconciliation, or related finance functions.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
