Software Engineer – Backend & Platform Development

About the role

Advanced Vision is seeking a full‑time Software Engineer to join its on‑site team in Sharjah. You will design, develop, test, and maintain back‑end and platform components that power security, smart‑city, and AI‑driven operational solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Implement scalable services and RESTful APIs for mission‑critical platforms.
• Write clean, maintainable code and perform debugging and performance optimisation.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and operations engineers.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Ensure software quality, security, and reliability across deployments.
• Integrate third‑party systems and support continuous improvement of development tools and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
• Ability to work effectively in an on‑site, multidisciplinary environment and communicate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of security, distributed systems, or real‑time data processing is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one modern language (Java, C#, Python, or similar).
• Hands‑on experience with back‑end web development, RESTful APIs, microservices, and database integration.
• Solid understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and patterns.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Version control using Git.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
