Sommelier Wine Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a professional Sommelier to join our luxury hospitality brand, providing personalized wine recommendations, pairing suggestions, and premium beverage service to discerning guests across our hotel and train experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver expert wine recommendations and pairing advice in line with five‑star standards.
• Execute wine service with correct presentation, opening, and pouring techniques.
• Assist in the organization, maintenance, and rotation of the wine cellar, ensuring optimal storage conditions.
• Monitor inventory levels, report shortages, breakages, and quality issues.
• Contribute to the development and presentation of the wine list, aligning it with the restaurant’s concept.
• Collaborate with the kitchen brigade to ensure harmonious food‑and‑wine pairings.
• Train service staff on wine knowledge, service techniques, and upselling strategies.
• Maintain compliance with hygiene, safety, and F&B service standards.
• Support cost control, waste minimisation, and revenue optimisation.
• Manage guest preferences, special requests, and VIP experiences with discretion.
• Participate in wine tastings, supplier meetings, and product evaluations as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fine‑dining or luxury hotel wine service.
• Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varieties, and vintages.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with kitchen teams.
• Professional demeanor with a focus on guest satisfaction and brand values.
• Ability to train and mentor staff on wine-related topics.
