Accountant

About the role

Bridge International for Academic Services is looking for an experienced Accountant in Amman, Jordan. The successful candidate will manage daily accounting activities, keep accurate financial records and support financial reporting and controls across its student recruitment and educational events operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and record financial transactions accurately.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payment processing and collections.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate financial discrepancies.
• Track university commission receivables, reconcile partner statements and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Monitor income and expenditure related to educational fairs and other company activities.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and support month-end and year-end closing.
• Support payroll processing, tax documentation and audit preparation.
• Maintain organised financial records and uphold internal controls and confidentiality.

Required profile

• Proven professional accounting experience is essential.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; a master's degree is a strong advantage.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Previous experience in an education consultancy, student recruitment agency or service-based organisation is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
