Accountant - Vendor Invoices and AP Reconciliation

About the role

The Accountant is a member of the Shared Services Centre team at HIKMA. The role ensures that vendor invoices are processed efficiently and on time, providing administrative and clerical support through processing, verifying and reconciling invoices, monitoring expenses and keeping records for tax purposes.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify and process vendor invoices in line with company policies and internal controls
• Ensure proper three-way matching of purchase orders, goods receipts and invoices
• Keep cost allocation, accounting and tax up to date according to relevant guidelines and laws
• Resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments such as procurement, warehouses and receiving
• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate accounts payable aging reports
• Support month-end and year-end closing, including accruals
• Assist internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations
• Review accounting policies and procedures and recommend improvements, including automation
• Help with ad hoc requests and special projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance or a similar field
• 0 to 3 years of experience in accounting or a related practice; exposure to processing global invoices preferred
• Preferred: CMA qualification
• Fluent English (written and spoken); very good German preferred
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, self-starter and collaborative team player

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (intermediate to advanced)
• Exposure to SAP ERP and workflow solutions
• Working knowledge of internal control concepts
• Data-driven, detail-oriented and able to handle large amounts of complex information
