Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

Sporter, a leading online platform for sports supplements and related products in the MENA region, is seeking a full‑time Accounts Payable Specialist to join its finance team in Amman. The role involves managing the end‑to‑end accounts payable cycle, ensuring accurate processing of supplier invoices and timely vendor payments while supporting month‑end and year‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Process, review, and verify supplier invoices for accuracy and completeness.
• Match invoices with purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and execute vendor payments according to company policies and payment schedules.
• Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and monitor accounts payable aging.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing, including accruals and prepaid expense reconciliations.
• Support external audits by providing required documentation and reports.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, and Finance to streamline invoice and payment processes.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, credit‑card, and petty‑cash expenses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in accounts payable.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
• Experience in retail, e‑commerce, or FMCG environments is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (Odoo experience is a plus).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
