Assistant Chief Steward

About the role

The Assistant Chief Steward supports the Back of House team in delivering an outstanding guest and member experience within a Hilton hotel. You will help manage cleaning schedules, equipment flow, and safety compliance while motivating staff to maintain high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Run the Back of House department efficiently and uphold consistent high standards.
• Train, develop and motivate the Back of House team.
• Ensure all Back of House areas meet cleanliness standards and cleaning schedules are completed.
• Manage the flow, movement, and storage of operational equipment for bar, banqueting and restaurant areas.
• Oversee cleanliness of all food and beverage outlets and the Team Restaurant.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation, hygiene, COSHH and Hilton Health & Safety guidelines.
• Identify and develop new revenue opportunities.
• Coordinate with banqueting functions for timely preparation of plates/orders.
• Report equipment faults or damage to relevant managers.
• Assist with equipment stock‑takes and ensure required items are available for service.

• Passion for building excellent relationships with colleagues.
• High school certificate or equivalent; additional hospitality qualifications are a plus.
