Assistant Manager Accounting

About the role

Talabat, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is hiring an Assistant Manager Accounting in Amman. The role supports the accounting manager by coaching, counselling and disciplining staff, and by helping develop, coordinate and enforce systems, policies, procedures and productivity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, hire and supervise accounting staff.
• Review sales reconciliation, credit applications and contracts, and daily and monthly cash flow and forecasts.
• Review revenue and expenses, payments to trading and non-trading suppliers, VAT and WHT monthly reports, and the balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Review the monthly closing package, confirm vendor payments and validate payroll entries.
• Validate recorded invoices, accrued and prepaid expenses, depreciation and amortization, lease IFRS16, marketing expenses, and monthly recurring entries.
• Oversee internal and external audits, set up and monitor accounting KPIs, and assist the planning team with annual budgeting.
• Analyze the P&L for cost-cutting and profit-maximizing opportunities and suggest recommendations to business stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with governmental law and tax, reconcile financial records with inventory reports, and validate NRV adjustments.
• Monitor team deliverables, support internal controls, and report financial variances to the Senior Manager Finance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a multinational or regional organization.
• Strong understanding of labour law and tax in Jordan.
• Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills, with high accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of ERP and payroll systems (Microsoft Dynamics and Workday).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
