Associate – Advice for Small Businesses Programme

About the role

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is seeking an Associate to support its Advice for Small Businesses (ASB) programme in Amman. Working under the Principal Manager, you will help design, implement and monitor advisory projects that assist high‑growth SMEs in becoming investment‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the structuring, execution and evaluation of advisory activities in line with EBRD policies and donor requirements.
• Conduct financial analysis of SME clients to identify appropriate advisory support and potential financing pathways.
• Generate a pipeline of high‑quality SME clients through business development and stakeholder outreach.
• Coordinate with banking, policy and sector teams, as well as external partners and donors, to deliver non‑financial services.
• Monitor project progress, prepare reports and ensure compliance with internal control standards.

Required profile

• University degree in economics, finance, business administration or a related field.
• Experience in SME advisory, business development or financial analysis, preferably in a banking or development‑finance environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently under supervision.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
