Associate - External Audit (JRC) - Amman

About the role

Deloitte is hiring an Associate or Experienced Associate in its External Audit practice under the JRC engagement, serving clients across Qatar. The position is based in Amman, Jordan, with the option to travel to Qatar as required.

Key responsibilities

• Build trust with stakeholders by understanding their service level expectations
• Deliver high-quality services with awareness of regulation and risk management impacts on controls
• Understand key statistics and industry matters about the entity before the engagement begins
• Adapt template referral instructions to define the scope of procedures and audit focus, and liaise with onshore and offshore centres of excellence
• Assist in tracking deliverables from component auditors and link risks, controls, procedures and findings across the EMS file
• Articulate audit quality milestones and the rationale behind the audit plan timings
• Prepare documentation by anticipating reviewer questions and distinguishing accounting from auditing judgements
• Develop relationships beyond the finance function and apply professional scepticism
• Apply AI in an audit context, validate AI-generated outputs, and follow responsible AI expectations
• Supervise staff, inspect client financial records, compile and analyse data, prepare audit reports and resolve accounting research issues
• Plan and manage engagements and people so deliverables meet work plan specifications and deadlines

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or a related field; graduate degree desired
• 2+ years of experience in public auditing and accounting, preferably in Big Audit Firms
• International accounting qualification desired: CA, ACCA or CPA, preferably CA
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing); bilingual Arabic/English preferred
• Ability to supervise staff and manage engagements
