Senior External Auditor - JRC

About the role

Deloitte is hiring a Senior in External Audit under its JRC practice, based in Amman, Jordan, to support clients across the UAE. The role involves delivering high-quality external audits, liaising with onshore and offshore centres of excellence and applying professional scepticism throughout the engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Build trust with stakeholders by understanding their service level expectations
• Deliver high-quality services with awareness of regulation and risk management impacts on controls
• Understand key statistics and industry matters about the entity before the engagement begins
• Adapt template referral instructions to define the scope of procedures and audit focus, and liaise with onshore and offshore centres of excellence
• Assist in tracking deliverables from component auditors and link risks, controls, procedures and findings across the EMS file
• Articulate audit quality milestones and challenge the timing of the audit plan
• Prepare documentation, anticipate reviewer questions and distinguish accounting from auditing judgements
• Develop relationships beyond the finance function and apply professional scepticism
• Apply AI in an audit context, validate AI-generated outputs and follow responsible AI expectations

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or a related field; graduate degree desired
• 4+ years of experience in public auditing and accounting, preferably in Big Audit Firms
• Ability to supervise staff, inspect client financial records, analyse data, prepare audit reports and resolve accounting research issues
• Ability to plan and manage engagements and people
• International accounting qualification desired: CA, ACCA or CPA, preferably CA
• Fluent English; bilingual Arabic/English preferred
• Located in Amman, available to travel to the UAE as required
