Associate Professor

About the role

Zarqa University seeks a full‑time Associate Professor to join its academic staff in Zarqa. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, lead research initiatives, and contribute to the university’s academic excellence and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, develop syllabi, deliver lectures and assessments.
• Conduct original research, publish in peer‑reviewed journals and seek research collaborations and funding.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, supervise research projects.
• Participate in curriculum development, program review and accreditation activities.
• Contribute to departmental and university committees, community outreach and academic events.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
• Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications and ongoing research activity.
• Demonstrated university‑level teaching experience with student‑centered course design.
• Experience in academic advising and supervising undergraduate/postgraduate research.
• Commitment to inclusive, gender‑neutral and non‑discriminatory teaching practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English (Arabic advantageous).
• Familiarity with educational technologies and Learning Management Systems.
• Ability to develop curricula and support accreditation processes.
