Backend Software Engineer – API Development

About the role

Majid Al Futtaim is seeking a senior Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑quality back‑end services, workers, and APIs that power our retail and entertainment platforms. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure data flows securely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and implement RESTful APIs and micro‑services with minimal guidance.
• Integrate Node.js applications with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Work with AWS cloud services and manage CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
• Implement caching solutions using Memcached or Redis to improve performance.
• Ensure data security, quality, and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
• Communicate project expectations, risks, and decisions to stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong understanding of API design, data flow, and cloud platforms.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and clear written/oral communication.
• Ability to work independently and within an Agile team.
