Backend Software Engineer (SaaS Contact Center)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join Maqsam’s AI‑powered contact‑center platform. You will work in a fast‑growing SaaS environment, turning business requirements into reliable, scalable services that power Arabic call transcription, analytics and AI insights.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into well‑defined technical solutions and implement them.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues in a high‑availability environment.
• Optimize system performance through testing and code refinement.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate new technologies and frameworks.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and best‑practice implementation.
• Document development processes, code changes and critical information.
• Participate in design and architecture decisions for internal systems and databases.
• Support junior engineers and help onboard new team members.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in backend or full‑stack web development.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (preferred).

Required skills

• Backend or full‑stack web development with focus on scalable, robust systems.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails (or similar frameworks).
• Experience with relational databases and their integration.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and software design.
• Advanced debugging skills in high‑availability environments.
• Familiarity with VoIP concepts and mobile development (plus).
