Backup Solutions Manager

About the role

The Backup Solutions Manager leads the design, implementation and ongoing management of enterprise‑wide backup and data‑protection solutions. You will ensure data availability, integrity and recoverability across on‑premises, hybrid and cloud environments while supporting business continuity and disaster‑recovery objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and operate backup and recovery platforms (Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, DLO).
• Maintain backup architecture for physical, virtual, containerised and cloud workloads.
• Manage backup storage systems such as Data Domain, ExaGrid and Huawei.
• Define and enforce backup policies, standards and best practices to meet RPO/RTO targets.
• Monitor backup operations, generate reports and handle incidents.
• Plan and execute restoration testing and disaster‑recovery drills.
• Lead ransomware‑protection initiatives, including immutable backups and cyber‑recovery solutions.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security and application teams.
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts and solution road‑maps.
• Mentor and develop backup engineers, support audits and regulatory compliance.
• Perform capacity planning, cost optimisation and technology lifecycle management.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of IT infrastructure experience with a strong focus on backup and data protection.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
• Solid understanding of storage (SAN, NAS, Object Storage) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V) technologies.
• Experience with application‑aware backups; cloud backup knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Experience in large‑scale or banking environments is advantageous.
