Chief Accountant

About the role

Telescope Medical Center is looking for a Chief Accountant to lead its accounting function in Amman. The role involves overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial analysis to support the organization’s growth in the healthcare sector.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets.
• Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting requirements, and statutory obligations.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders when required.
• Develop and implement accounting controls, procedures, and best practices.
• Support management with financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounting with a strong background in financial reporting and accounting operations.
• Prior experience in a Chief Accountant or senior accounting role is preferred.
• Experience in the healthcare or medical sector is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial controls.
• High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
