Chief Accountant

About the role

Khibraty is seeking a highly skilled Chief Accountant to lead financial operations and reporting within a dynamic FMCG environment. The role combines deep costing expertise with strategic financial leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Guide, mentor and oversee a team of accountants, establishing clear roles, workflows and KPIs.
• Supervise monthly, quarterly and annual closing procedures in line with IFRS and internal guidelines.
• Prepare and deliver accurate financial statements, balance sheets, P&L and management reports with performance commentary.
• Calculate landed costs, assign freight, customs and insurance to inventory, and ensure correct COGS valuation.
• Track short‑ and long‑term cash flow forecasts, manage payment cycles and bank reconciliations.
• Coordinate tax filings, facilitate year‑end audits and enhance internal controls.
• Provide financial insights, variance analysis and profitability assessments to senior management.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and lead ERP (SAP) implementation or upgrades.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's preferred).
• At least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in FMCG, pharmaceutical or manufacturing sectors with landed‑cost accounting knowledge.
• Strong background in financial reporting, internal controls and audit preparation.
• Professional certifications such as CMA are highly valued.
