Consultant – Technology Enhanced Pedagogy

About the role

UNRWA's Education Programme is looking for a consultant with expertise in capacity building on digital education to lay the foundation for scaling up educator capacity building. The consultant will review technology literacy (EdTech) of teaching personnel across UNRWA fields of operation and design a training programme for educators on ICT, including a training package with facilitator notes and presentations. The work is done remotely, online, for 4-5 months.

Key responsibilities

• Inception and stocktaking: map and analyse existing teacher capacity-building activities across the five fields, review existing ICT education resources such as the Digital Pedagogy Handbook and the Digital Competency Framework, and set out a workplan.
• Systemic review of EdTech literacy of teaching personnel, including stakeholder consultations and possibly an online survey, and a report advising on revising the teacher digital competency framework.
• Design a modular, hybrid, Arabic-language training programme focused on digital lesson planning and the use of MS Teams, Manara and Tamkeen, with facilitator guides, participant materials and a simple Micro-MEL assessment framework.
• Pilot the training package and assessment tools with a small UNRWA team, then orient 5-6 UNRWA facilitators and train them to cascade the training to the fields.
• Report periodically on progress and give advice on developing the programme further.

• Ability to work remotely for 4-5 months.
