Data Collection Supervisor

About the role

The Sustainable Research and Development Center is assembling a consulting team to conduct an end‑of‑project evaluation of a labour‑intensive maintenance and Cash‑for‑Work programme in Jordan. The Data Collection Supervisor will lead the field data‑collection effort, ensuring high‑quality, ethical, and timely data from surveys, interviews, focus groups and limited site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Support the evaluation team in finalising the data‑collection plan and tools.
• Oversee the programming, testing and deployment of electronic data‑collection applications.
• Recruit, onboard and train enumerators and qualitative researchers on survey instruments, ethical protocols and quality procedures.
• Supervise phone surveys with beneficiaries and coordinate key‑informant interviews and focus‑group discussions.
• Manage daily field logistics, team schedules, and communication.
• Monitor progress against the workplan, conduct real‑time data quality checks and organise spot‑checks or verification calls as needed.

Required profile

• Organised and practical with strong problem‑solving abilities in field settings.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with enumerators, researchers and the evaluation management team.
• Experience supervising data‑collection activities in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Familiarity with ethical standards for informed consent, confidentiality and data protection.
