Database Admin and Developer

About the role

The Database Admin and Developer ensures performance, reliability, security and availability of First Tech’s database environments. The role blends hands‑on administration with development across SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Redis.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable database platforms on SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Optimize queries, indexes, execution plans and resolve blocking or deadlocks.
• Manage backup, recovery, replication, high‑availability setups and conduct failover testing.
• Control schema changes and data migrations using tools such as DbUp, Flyway or Liquibase.
• Develop T‑SQL stored procedures, functions, views, ETL processes and data integrations.
• Monitor database health, capacity and support incident response.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production database administration and development experience.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with MS SQL Server, T‑SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues under production pressure.
• Experience with cloud‑managed databases (AWS, Azure, GCP or Alibaba) and on‑premise environments.
