Decorator Mechanic – Maintenance Specialist

About the role

CROWN Middle East Can Co Ltd is looking for a skilled Decorator Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot and repair decorating equipment in its can manufacturing facility. The role ensures optimal machine performance and product quality while supporting production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on decorating machines, including lubrication, cleaning and component inspection.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues on decorators, such as ink systems, oven controls and transfer mechanisms.
• Repair or replace faulty parts, including gears, bearings, cylinders and electrical components.
• Execute equipment changeovers and setups for different can sizes and designs, ensuring precise alignment and registration.
• Monitor decorator performance during production runs and make adjustments to maintain quality and minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with production operators and quality control to resolve decorating defects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used and equipment performance.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably with decorating equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics and pneumatic diagrams.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on troubleshooting skills.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced production setting.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
