Design Engineer – Solar

About the role

We are looking for a results‑driven Design Engineer to join our solar solutions team. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of photovoltaic (PV) system design, from concept through production, across residential, commercial and utility‑scale projects.

Key responsibilities

• Execute design activities for residential, commercial and utility‑scale PV projects.
• Prepare, review and optimise 2D CAD drawings and 3D SketchUp models for PV modules, mounting structures, racking systems, enclosures and related equipment.
• Perform system layout optimisation and generate accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on project designs.
• Conduct PV system modelling, energy‑yield analysis and performance simulations using PVSyst.
• Prepare technical documentation, design calculations and engineering deliverables in line with project requirements.
• Support the tendering process by preparing technical proposals, reviewing tender documents, performing quantity take‑offs and evaluating technical specifications.
• Ensure all designs comply with international standards, local regulations, utility requirements and project specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of design experience in solar or related energy industries.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) with strong analytical and prototyping abilities.
• Solid understanding of PV system components, electrical interfaces, thermal management and mechanical integration.
• Familiarity with relevant standards, regulations and design‑for‑manufacturability principles.
