Digital Forensics Team Leader

About the role

ZainTECH is seeking a Digital Forensics Team Leader to head investigations into cyber incidents, fraud, insider threats, and regulatory inquiries. You will guide a team of forensic analysts, ensure evidence integrity, and provide technical leadership for complex cases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate complex digital forensic investigations across cyber‑security incidents, data breaches, insider threats, fraud, IP theft, and regulatory matters.
• Direct evidence acquisition, analysis, and validation while adhering to approved forensic methodologies and NCSC licensing requirements.
• Provide technical oversight, review forensic reports, and approve investigation methodologies and evidence‑collection approaches.
• Support incident response activities, including ransomware and advanced threat investigations, and assist with attribution and attack reconstruction.
• Develop and maintain forensic procedures, evidence‑handling standards, and quality‑assurance frameworks; evaluate emerging forensic technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of cybersecurity experience and at least five completed digital forensic investigations.
• Valid NCSC‑approved forensics certification (e.g., GCFE, GCFA, CHFI) or equivalent.

Required skills

• Disk, memory, mobile, and network forensics.
• Evidence handling and chain‑of‑custody management.
• Forensic tooling experience with EnCase, FTK, Autopsy, and X‑Ways.
