Draftsman - Irrigation Network Rehabilitation

About the role

Hussein Atieh & Sons Co. (HAE), a general contractor founded in Jordan in 1961 with offices in Jordan, Palestine and Saudi Arabia, is seeking a qualified and experienced Draftsman for its Rehabilitation of Irrigation Networks project in Ghor Al-Safi / Jordan Valley. The company is active in building construction, electromechanical works, renewable energy, road construction, earthworks, mining, water and sewerage networks, wastewater treatment, drinking water plants and communications infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, revise and maintain engineering drawings in line with contract requirements, approved designs, technical specifications and the Engineer's instructions.
• Prepare shop drawings, construction drawings, layout plans, longitudinal profiles, cross-sections and detailed drawings for irrigation pipelines and associated structures.
• Update as-built drawings based on actual site conditions, approved modifications and verified survey measurements.
• Review design drawings for discrepancies or missing information and refer them to the relevant engineers.
• Incorporate comments from the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Surveyors and the Engineer into drawings.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers and Surveyors so drawings reflect site conditions, alignments, elevations and coordinates.
• Assist with drawings for pipe crossings, connections to existing networks, valves, fittings and chambers.
• Ensure drawings are numbered, titled, dated and revised according to document control, and keep an organised electronic and hard-copy archive.
• Make sure only the latest approved drawings are issued for construction and that superseded revisions are controlled.
• Support engineering and construction teams in resolving technical and drafting issues, and prepare drawings for inspections, testing, commissioning and handover.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience preparing engineering and construction drawings, preferably for water supply, irrigation, wastewater or other infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and construction details.
• Experience with shop drawings, as-built drawings, layout plans, profiles, sections and detailed drawings for pipeline networks.
• Knowledge of pipeline alignment, longitudinal profiles, levels, coordinates, manholes, valves and chambers.
• Ability to incorporate site measurements, survey data and Engineer's comments into revised drawings.
• Good understanding of drawing standards, revision control and document management.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines; good communication skills.
• Good command of English and Arabic, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.
