About the role
UNICEF is seeking a 12‑month Education in Emergencies (EiE) Consultant to strengthen its global EiE response capacity within the Centre of Excellence and Global Education Practice. Based remotely from Amman, the consultant will work closely with UNICEF Country Offices to enhance programme management, data systems, and advocacy for crisis‑affected children.
Key responsibilities
- Enhance programme management, knowledge generation, data collection, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, communication, humanitarian advocacy, and capacity‑building across Level 2 and Level 3 emergencies.
- Support country offices in improving generation, harmonisation, real‑time availability, analysis, documentation, and strategic use of education data and evidence.
- Strengthen systems to track access, participation, retention, and learning continuity for displaced, refugee, migrant, and children on the move.
- Translate programme results, needs and gaps into data‑driven insights and compelling advocacy messages.
- Document and amplify country‑level achievements and challenges at regional and global levels, including for partners and donors.
- Promote coordination, standardised reporting, knowledge‑sharing and technical capacity across UNICEF offices and partners, with a focus on the MENA region.
Required profile
- Proven experience in education in emergencies, humanitarian programme management or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to work with UNICEF, UN agencies or similar organisations.
- Strong understanding of data‑driven decision‑making and evidence‑based advocacy.
- Familiarity with the MENA region and the challenges faced by crisis‑affected children.
