Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Power Plant

About the role

Wärtsilä Energy is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join its Jordan operational team in Amman. The role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting gas and HFO‑based power plant equipment and associated control systems, ensuring reliable plant operation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs, troubleshooting and routine electrical maintenance on power plant equipment, including engine control systems, PLCs, UNIC, connectivity devices (HMI, firewalls, servers), sWOIS, MV/LV breakers and transformers.
• Prepare detailed work plans and reports, and provide recommendations for future maintenance or improvements.
• Communicate technical information with Wärtsilä stakeholders and customers to ensure clear understanding of outcomes.
• Execute all tasks in compliance with Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QEHS) guidelines and site procedures.
• Support plant operation activities and proactively advise on system improvements.
• Collaborate with internal and external parties to deliver technical support for sites.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on automation.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with Wärtsilä gas engines and various PLC platforms (Siemens, Schneider, etc.), UNIC and sWOIS.
• Safety‑first mindset and strong systematic problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.
