External Audit Senior Associate – Banking & Insurance

About the role

PwC Middle East is seeking an External Audit Senior Associate to join its Assurance practice in Amman. You will work on banking and insurance engagements, applying a blend of human insight and technology‑driven audit techniques to deliver high‑quality assurance services.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse client financial statements to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Examine accounting records, inventory, plant and equipment, and other supporting documentation.
• Perform inquiries—both written and oral—with client personnel to gather evidence.
• Test internal controls and business processes for effectiveness.
• Build trust with clients by understanding expectations and delivering high‑quality audit outcomes.
• Research client‑industry information prior to engagement start.
• Communicate progress, risks, and variances to the engagement manager or partner.
• Take ownership of external file completion and engagement economics, explaining budget variances.
• Review work of associate‑level staff, providing on‑the‑job training, coaching, and constructive feedback.
