Finance Intern

About the role

The Finance Intern will support UNRWA's finance team in Amman, Jordan, gaining hands‑on experience in daily financial operations, data analysis, and reporting. This unpaid internship offers a valuable learning environment within a United Nations agency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including account reconciliations.
• Compile, consolidate, and review financial data and supporting documents for accuracy.
• Support system development, process‑improvement initiatives, and internal control monitoring.
• Help create training materials, guidance notes, and financial/analytical reports.
• Prepare presentations, dashboards, and minutes for internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in special projects such as data analysis, policy development, and process optimisation.
• Deliver assigned tasks collaboratively, timely, and efficiently.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within one year) from a bachelor’s or higher programme in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or a related field.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is a desirable asset.
• No prior work experience required.
