Freelance Bot Developer – Messaging Platforms (WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord)

About the role

Mindrift is seeking a freelance Bot Developer to create and maintain conversational bots for WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and similar messaging platforms. You will work remotely on a part‑time basis, collaborating with AI‑assisted agents to deliver reliable, production‑ready bots for real users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and refine bots for WhatsApp Business API/Cloud API, Telegram Bot API and Discord API.
• Create conversational flows, manage dialogue state and implement fallback handling.
• Integrate bots with large language models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) for natural‑language responses.
• Connect bots to backend services, databases, CRMs and third‑party APIs such as booking or payment systems.
• Handle platform‑specific requirements including webhooks, rate limits, interactive messages, buttons, media and templates.
• Evaluate and refactor AI‑generated code to ensure correctness, reliability and graceful error handling.
• Implement logging, monitoring and recovery mechanisms to keep bots healthy in production.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in backend, integration, automation or bot development.
• Strong foundation in building reliable conversational workflows and production‑ready bots.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems methodically and pay close attention to detail.

• Discord API (or similar messaging platform APIs)
