GBV Specialist – Protection Project in Amman, Jordan

About the role

The GBV Specialist will lead gender‑based violence (GBV) activities within the SPRING protection project in Amman, Jordan. Reporting to the Project Officer, the role ensures safe, rights‑based services for refugees, host communities and persons with disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor GBV interventions in Zarqa, Mafraq, Ramtha and Amman.
• Supervise the UPP Gender/GBV Officer and Child Protection Officer.
• Coordinate with CP Specialist, M&E Officer, Country Representative, Logistics Specialist and consortium partners.
• Develop GBV risk‑assessment tools, case‑management protocols and referral mechanisms.
• Prepare donor reports, project documentation and ensure compliance with AICS requirements.
• Provide capacity‑building trainings for staff and community partners.

Required profile

• University degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Humanitarian Protection or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in GBV programming within humanitarian contexts.
• Knowledge of Jordan’s refugee and host‑community dynamics.
• Fluency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
• Experience supervising staff and managing multi‑partner collaborations.

Required skills

• GBV risk assessment and case‑management methodologies.
• Data collection, monitoring and evaluation of protection activities.
• Familiarity with humanitarian standards (Sphere, IASC Guidelines).
• Report writing and donor compliance.
