Head of Legal

About the role

The Head of Legal will lead the legal function for Noatum Ports Jordan, providing strategic and operational advice across port, terminal, commercial, procurement, employment, regulatory and corporate matters. This senior position ensures the protection of the organisation's legal and commercial interests while maintaining compliance with Jordanian law and Group requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the legal department and advise senior management on strategic legal issues.
• Review, draft and negotiate commercial, operational, procurement and service agreements.
• Provide legal guidance on port, terminal, logistics and maritime activities.
• Manage contractual risks and advise on commercial implications.
• Support tenders, RFPs, concessions, partnerships and major commercial transactions.
• Advise on employment and labour‑law matters in coordination with HR.
• Oversee disputes, claims, litigation and external counsel.
• Ensure compliance with Jordanian legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain legal records, contracts and documentation.
• Develop legal policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Identify and mitigate legal and contractual risks.
• Provide legal support for organisational changes, projects and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law.
• Admission to practice in Jordan preferred or required.
• 10–15+ years of legal experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Strong experience in commercial contracts and corporate law.
• Experience in ports, maritime, logistics, infrastructure, transportation or industrial environments is highly desirable.
• Deep knowledge of Jordanian legislation and regulatory environment.
• Excellent Arabic and English communication skills.
