Health and Safety Officer

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Health and Safety Officer to support the Al Fuheis – Mahis infrastructure and water‑network project. The role involves ensuring a safe working environment, monitoring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, and promoting a strong safety culture among all project personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements on project sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and verify compliance with safety regulations and project procedures.
• Prepare safety reports, inspection records, and incident documentation.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and awareness sessions for staff and contractors.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
• Coordinate safety matters with project teams, contractors and stakeholders.
• Support emergency preparedness and response activities on site.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a diploma with the same experience level.
• Proven experience in water‑network or similar infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations and best practices.
• Relevant health and safety certifications are an advantage.
• Resident of Al Balqa Governorate and willing to work on the Al Fuheis – Mahis project.
