Hotel Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Hotel Maintenance Technician ensures that guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house facilities are safe, functional, and well‑maintained. Working on a rotating shift schedule, you will respond promptly to guest repair requests and perform preventive maintenance across a wide range of hotel equipment and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical‑room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines; carry necessary tools and radios.
• Identify, locate, and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as needed.
• Report daily activities and issues to the next shift using approved communication standards.
• Execute surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and thorough clean‑up of work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, lighting, and guestroom items.
• Program televisions, manage housekeeping‑related inventory, and use lockout/tagout procedures before work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler system maintenance.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Professional appearance, confidentiality, and adherence to safety and security policies.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
