Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager oversees daily operations of the housekeeping, recreation/health club and, where applicable, laundry departments. This role ensures guest rooms, public areas and employee spaces are clean, well‑maintained, and meet the property’s quality standards while supporting guest and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily housekeeping shift activities, including inspections of guest rooms and public spaces.
• Coordinate room status communication with the Front Desk and assign cleaning priorities.
• Maintain inventory levels of supplies, equipment and uniforms.
• Manage departmental budgets, monitor financial performance and achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
• Conduct training for new room attendants and provide ongoing coaching.
• Schedule staff according to business demand, track attendance and enforce property policies.
• Lead employee recognition programs and ensure consistent application of disciplinary procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of housekeeping or related experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of housekeeping operations, budgeting and guest service standards.
• Ability to supervise, train and motivate a diverse team.
