Humanitarian Access Security Manager

About the role

The Humanitarian Access & Security Manager (HASM) is responsible for the safety and security of all IRC staff and operations in Jordan. Reporting to the Shared Services Unit, the HASM develops and implements access and security plans that align with IRC policies and humanitarian principles.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all IRC sites and facilities in Jordan meet IRC safety and security standards.
• Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments for all locations and activities.
• Develop, review, and regularly update security management plans, standard operating procedures, and contingency plans.
• Maintain preparedness for contextual changes, including hibernation and evacuation planning.
• Provide up‑to‑date security advisories in English and Arabic to all staff.
• Deliver security inductions for new hires and remain available to support staff on security matters.

Required profile

• Solutions‑driven professional with a passion for humanitarian work.
• Proven experience in security risk management within humanitarian or conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian access principles and local security dynamics in Jordan.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
